UPDATE: Brighton Marathon preparations

So. At least 3 months ago, I told you lovely people that I will be running the Brighton Marathon on 9th April this year, which is probably the most brilliant and most stupid (for my legs) decision I have made. I’ve been relatively quiet about my progress, so here is where I am at!

Preparation is going well. After Christmas where I asked for anything marathon-related, I am well equipped! I’ve been running once or twice a week since October and since I started running I lost at least half a stone. Last month (after my knee problems) I’ve started running three times a week. I managed to complete a half-marathon (13.1 miles) in just over 2 hours last month and 3.6 miles constantly uphill, which I honestly brilliant for me. Now that my knee is sorted after a good sports massage and I got the right trainers, I just need to keep at it until judgement day! I have done 10 miles this morning in 1 hour 30 minutes!

There are a number of BBC articles relating to dementia – have a look for more info:

As I mentioned before, I’m running for the charity Dementia UK and in memory of my grandmother. The money I am raising is going to an amazing cause to support increasing numbers of people suffering from dementia. Have a look at the link below and please donate – if not, support is gratefully appreciated! This is not only money for me to do this hellish deed, but this is for money for those who need it most.

[the marathon has already finished and thus, I removed the JustGiving link]

Only two months to go……..
