This is the fourth ranking event of the season, with players from England, Wales, Germany, Thailand and Hong Kong going to the West Midlands of all places to get another title under their belts. There is still a good variety of players, with seven U21 players playing in the main event as well as a U21 event. Being the Top 2 seeds, Reanne Evans and Ng On-Yee will meet the top two players of each group to make the Last 16 knockout.
For some, like Maria Catalano, it’s another push to finally get a title while knowing that their game is good (https://www.womenssnooker.com/maria-catalano-qa/) and U21 No. Shannon Metcalf, who is looking to make a huge impact. For others like Connie Stephens, it will be the their first tournament. Apparently, she has been very busy with asking tips from snooker professionals before the event, receiving responses from Neil Robertson and Kyren Wilson:

The British Open will be played at the Stourbridge Institute in the West Midlands, England and will take place between Saturday 17th February – Sunday 18th February.
