BLOG UPDATE: My 2020 Vision

Hello there,

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their festivities! 2020 will certainly be very interesting and indeed the next decade! To the few who are still on the sofa chewing on the last piece of chocolate from your stocking – I don’t blame you. 2019 is the sort of year that has you loving it one moment and gives you the feeling of banging your head against the wall.

The Me

For me, 2019 is a year of highs and lows. In short and not going into too much detail, I was overwhelmed and stressed by a combination of an array of things. One of them includes being unemployed at the start of the year, which doesn’t quite help. After being lucky enough to go to counselling, travel in Peru for a bit and getting a change of perspective early in the year, I managed to change career and finish with a lovely job. Peru is incredible. If you ever have the opportunity to go, GO.

Obviously, my completion of the Rotterdam Marathon at sub-4 hours is a huge highlight for me and hopefully I will do another in a year or two. Mae West once said: “I’ll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times to make sure.” Which might mean I will decide to hate running on the third attempt.

I’m getting myself back on track quite nicely. We will see how things pan out!

The Blog

I’ve been running this blog since late 2016 and enjoyed writing a good detail about men’s and women’s snooker, countdowns, interviewing people and mentioning statistics that no-one will ever remember. Also, I do #snookergifsunday on the odd occasion.

Well, next year I will continue to do exactly that. On top of all that, I have my upcoming series on the most memorable moments in snooker history. It’s something different and hopefully people like to talk about it in a positive manner. But most of the debate will be on Twitter, which will mean a lot of ad hominem rubbish might come my way.

I want to attend some events as well. I plan to go to one or two evenings at the Dafabet Masters in Alexandra Palace in January! I’ve been given money towards going to the Snooker Shoot-Out in February and lastly, I hope to go to the Crucible for the World Championship.

I would like to find ways to promote this blog better. This means I will need to come up with new and more innovative material for you lovely folks. I only write because I love it rather than chasing the views and the likes. But I would love to see where the blog is able to go. Any advice or information would be much appreciated.

Thank you all for the chats, banter and the views. Anyways, here to a successful 2020!
